Enhancing the lives of children from birth through Kindergarten

Announcing Friends of MIPA! Join us on October 12th!

We are excited to announce our new “Friends of MIPA” group.  If you are a grandparent, MIPA alumni, or simply someone who is passionate about early childhood education, we hope you’ll join us as we kick off this group with an information social / meeting.  Details below:

Who: Grandparents/Aunts/Uncles, MIPA alumni, and anyone else passionate about early childhood education and interested in getting involved in the MIPA community
What: Informational meeting / social (Coffee and pastries provided)
When: Saturday, October 12th, at 10 a.m.
Where: Mercer Island Community Center, Meeting Room 104
Why: To raise community awareness about group’s mission and activities and to share how to get involved in MIPA

Please RSVP to our Friends of MIPA chair, Elizabeth Kaplan: friendsofmipa @ gmail . com.

Background:
After several MIPA alumni and grandparents volunteered at our Circus event last year, we realized there is a great opportunity to extend our MIPA community.  We’re reaching out to the larger Mercer Island community beyond parents and primary caretakers – specifically to other friends, family, and community members who are motivated to enhance the lives of preschool-aged children.  Our goal is to connect others in our community to MIPA’s mission and outreach efforts and give people the opportunity to volunteer at our events.  We also look forward to learning from the experiences of past MIPA members and sharing MIPA’s rich history with our current members.

If you can’t attend the meeting, but are still interested in joining, please feel free to contact Elizabeth at the e-mail address above.
